Seeking Quotes: Legal/ CPA Assistance for Small Businesses
Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) received grant funding that will cover legal and accounting consultants to work one-on-one with microbusinesses (5 or fewer employees) in Skamania and Klickitat Counties. This grant funding was provided by the Washington State Microenterprise Association (WSMA) thanks to a grant made by the Washington State Department of Commerce. The work will take place between February 1 and June 1, 2023. All businesses would be referred to the legal or accounting consultant after first working with the Klickitat-Skamania Small Business Development Center. MCEDD is seeking consultants (both lawyers and Certified Public Accountants) interested in participating in this work. Mid-Columbia Economic Development District Budget Committee
Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) has an open seat its budget committee. The Committee usually meets once annually in May to review a draft budget prepared by staff and makes a recommendation to the MCEDD Board. Applicants must be representative of the services provided by MCEDD, involved with the promotion and/or the creation of family-wage jobs, the diversification of the economic base, and the growth, development and retention of business and industry. Applicants must also reside in the MCEDD region which consists of Klickitat, Skamania, Hood River, Wasco and Sherman Counties.
All positions are non-paid positions. The MCEDD Budget Committee interest form is available below, or at the MCEDD offices at 802 Chenowith Loop Road in The Dalles, Oregon, 97058. All interest forms will be reviewed and provided to the MCEDD Board of Directors for appointment. Appointments are made for a three-year period.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 for consideration of appointment.

Wasco County Economic Development Commission Opening
The Wasco County Economic Development Commission is accepting applications for an open volunteer position on the Commission. Position 10 is an at large position with a focus on representation from the housing, real estate and development sector. The appointee will fill the remainder of the current term that goes through the end of December 2024. Applicants from anywhere in Wasco County will be accepted!
In order to apply, candidates are asked to submit an interest form by 12 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd , for first round consideration of appointment.

Mount Hood Economic Alliance – Clackamas County Board Members
MCEDD has openings for two Clackamas County representatives on the Mount Hood Economic Alliance Board. MHEA is a gap financer providing business loans in Clackamas, Hood River, and Wasco Counties. This is a volunteer position that requires a background in business or finance, and a willingness to support small business in these counties. The focus of MHEA funding is on the creation and retention of jobs. Priority is given to those business development projects that create or retain better than average wage jobs in the agriculture, light manufacturing, recreation equipment, technology or tourism industries. As a source of “gap” financing, MHEA is also looking for projects that leverage other sources of business development capital. The Board meets on the third Friday of the month as needed. Residency is required in Clackamas County for this position.
