Marla joined MCEDD in 2018 as the Energy Coordinator. She has worked on energy planning in the Gorge since 2016 when she served as a RARE (Resource Assistance for Rural Environments) AmeriCorps participant with Hood River County. Marla worked with Hood River County jurisdictions and community partners to create the Hood River County Energy Plan. Today Marla works with Hood River County and regional partners to pursue energy projects that bring economic and physical resilience to the Gorge. Marla graduated from Whitman College with a BA in Environmental Politics. Her passion for community-driven energy planning was sparked by a 2015 internship with Wallowa Resources.
