The fifth meeting of the comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) update process was held on Wednesday, September 1st. The meeting started with an overview presentation of Hood River County by Commissioner Mike Oates, who shared the opportunities and challenges that exist for the area. Jessica Metta, MCEDD’s Executive Director, shared a review of prior CEDS sessions held thus far. The purpose of the meeting was to review the latest version of the four draft goal statements and brainstorm strategies under each goal. A summary of the statements, along with the meeting presentations, can be found below.
The data and thoughts shared by stakeholders across the five counties during this session will help to guide the priorities for the economic strategy update, which will support a prosperous economy and a more resilient region. We appreciate your participation in this process and look forward to seeing you at the October 7th CEDS meeting where we will discuss implementation and metrics for the strategy.
