Mid Columbia Economic Development District strives to promote the creation of family-wage jobs, the diversification of the economic base, and the growth, development and retention of business and industry in Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Klickitat and Skamania Counties

MCEDD is organized as a government non-profit in Oregon as an ORS-190 and in Washington through RCW 39.34.010.

    Agency or Institution
    Program Description
    Mid-Columbia Economic Development District Gap loans and financing for companies creating new jobs. MCEDD can help determine which loan program (or combination of programs) best suits your needs and can facilitate contact with other programs as well.
    Oregon Investment Board Loans and grants in the National Scenic Area to support economic and community development.
    Mount Hood Economic Alliance MHEA administers the regional investment and rural investment programs. MHEA focuses on the creation and retention of jobs. It distributes grants and loans to provide
    “gap financing.”
    Small Business Development Center Provides one-on-one counseling, training and advertising.
    USDA Rural Development In partnership with the private sector and community-based organizations, USDA provides financial assistance and business planning.
    Cascade Locks/Hood River Enterprise Zone An opportunity for businesses growing or relocating to Cascade Locks or Hood River. The enterprise zones exempt businesses from local property taxes on new investments.
