Hood River Receives $500,000 in Federal EDA Investment Funds

On April 21 U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Sandy K. Baruah and U.S. Representative Greg Walden presented a $500,000 Economic Development Administration (EDA) investment check to the City of Hood River and the Port of Hood River, Oregon.

The investment will help build roadway improvements to the Port of Hood River that will improve the flow of commercial traffic, allowing existing businesses to expand and attract new businesses and jobs to the region. The investment is expected to create 62 jobs and spur $13.5 million in private investment.

EDA is a parent agency for MCEDD.
