Casino Night Fundraiser a Success!

Lights were dimmed in the Café Moro on Saturday night, March 15th. A hush fell over the room and the almost inaudible sound of a muffled swoosh or thump of cards being dealt escalated to the clink and ringing of chips being thrown into the pot, then raucous laughter erupted, table by table punctuated by groans and guffaws subsiding to the sound of a pot of chips being pushed to the winner. It was a Casino Night fundraiser for the Colors in the Wind project. Nineteen people gathered to play cards, joke, win prizes and have a fun filled evening.

Colors in the Wind is a project undertaken by the recent Ford Leadership Group in Sherman County to place banner hangers in each of the six communities in Sherman County and provide an initial set of banners to advertise local events and help tie the communities together and encourage more US 97 traffic to pull off and stop (and spend money).

The group has raised $8,050 of an anticipated $11,517 needed to complete the project. Future fundraisers are planned.

Colors in the Wind extends our sincere appreciation to the Café Moro for the use of the restaurant and Mid-Columbia Producers, Sheri Carlson and Carrie Kaseberg for donating prizes.
