Two recent MCEDD loans supported local small business food truck start-ups:
- La Fogata Taqueria: Maribel Marquez obtained a MCEDD loan to reincarnate her business, La Fogata Taqueria, in The Dalles after an almost 4 year hiatus. In 2015, Maribel and her husband, Victor, obtained a MCEDD loan to create an efficient and high capacity mobile kitchen. La Fogata Taqueria is located at 523 E. 2nd Street, The Dalles, Oregon and is once again providing fast, fresh Mexican food. In addition to its mobile restaurant location, La Fogata also offers catering for any event throughout the Mid-Columbia area. Call Maribel at 541-980-9292 to schedule catering, order your meal or to learn more about her business.
- Huck Truck: At the Huck Truck in Bingen, Washington, you will find simple, everyday food prepared by an inspired chef. After years of food-based adventures in growing, preparing, selling, and sharing quality food, Erik Stenberg and his wife Jessie sought a path to share their skills and passion as small business owners. With support from the Small Business Development Center they created a solid business plan, designed their dream mobile kitchen, and secured funding from MCEDD and from a private lender. The Huck Truck opened its windows to customers at the end of May in 2016. Phone call or text orders are welcome. http://www.thehucktruck.com/
