Loan Client Profile - Minor's International Wood Design
Minor's International Wood Design is a five year old wood working business in The Dalles, Oregon owned by Dan Minor. Minor's International Wood Design does all types of woodworking, including custom furniture, cabinetry, and wine boxes.  Recently he added wooden cremation urns with inlay joinery to his business. However, Dan felt that the purchase of a laser engraver would allow him to expand this niche with more design capabilities and customization options for each product and client.

Minor's International Wood Design was awarded an economic development loan from Mid-Columbia Economic Development District to expand his business. Working with Eric Nerdin at MCEDD for business financing and Darrell Roberts at the Columbia Gorge Community College Small Business Development Center on a business plan, Minor's International Wood Design now has the capability to laser engrave custom personal photos and other artwork and lettering on almost any type of wood project.

For more information on MCEDD's loan programs, visit the MCEDD website or contact Eric Nerdin, MCEDD Loan Fund Manager at 541-296-2266.

As a service to the regional business community and as a strong part of our economic development strategy for the region, MCEDD manages several business loan programs that provide an accessible, affordable source of capital for projects that create and/or retain jobs.
